Academy Services
Some of these services are offered in conjunction with The California Association for Local Economic Development.
Tools for Business Success
This innovative program offers a central web feed of small business resources. Local organizations have a button on their website that links the user to up-to-date information on a wide variety of business topics, all of which appear to be coming from the host organization's website. For a very small investment, cities, counties, economic development corporations, chambers, and others can now offer local entrepreneurs a new level of business assistance with virtually no staff time to develop or maintain the system.
Local Elected Official (LEO) & Policymaker Training
LEOs educate local elected officials about economic development. Presentations provide community leaders with an understanding of economic development dynamics, a framework for evaluating priorities, encouragement for having an ED strategic plan, and an outside voice regarding the workings of economic development in their town.
Professional Assistance Service (PAS)
This process brings experienced economic development professionals into a community to focus on specific challenges and make observations and recommendations that result in a stronger local economy. Facilitations Trained facilitators help organizations have productive retreats and meetings that result in an action plan, team development, consensus building, strategic planning, project development, and/or implementation.
